On
September, 8, during His Primate visit to Kolomna, the Most Holy Patriarch of
Moscow and All Russia Alexy II visited the Holy Trinity New Golutvin
convent.
Hegumene
Xenia (Zaytseva)
welcomed
the Most Holy Patriarch on behalf of the
sisters in
the Holy Trinity church of the convent. The
convent inhabitans
presented His Holiness
a
woven image of St. Sergius
of Radonezh.
The Most Holy Patriarch Alexy II addressed the convent sisters with a salutatory
word.
His
Holiness visited an over-well chapel in honour of St, Equal-to-the-Apostels
Prince Vladimir and St. Greatmartyress
Anastasia
the rescuer constructed by he convent sisters.
In
the Throne hall of
the Metropolitan’s Chamber of the New Goltvin convent the Most Holy
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy declared rewarding by an award of St.
Right-Believing Prince Dimitry of Don, I degree, Head of the city of Kolomna Shuvalov
Valeriy Ivanovich and handed him over that high church award. V.I.Shuvalov on
behalf of the citizens of Kolomna presented to His Holiness a gift - a picture with a view of the Kolomna
Kremlin.
The
head of the Russian Church also handed awards of St. Right-Believing Prince
Dimitry of Don Don, III degree, to

Mother
Superior of the
Holy Trinity New Golutvin convent, archpriest Nikolay Kachankin, Prior of the
Assumption cathedral of Kolomna, Rector of the Kolomna Theological seminary,
priest Vladimir Pakhachev, Decent
of churches of the Kolomna district, Kolomna City Head Deputies Valery
Shkurov, Vladimir Tsarev, Dmitry Smirnov, as well as to some benefactors who
took part in preparation of celebrating of the 625-anniversary of the Kulikovo
Battle.
The
Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy together with Governor of the
Moscow region Boris Gromov visited a museum of the Holy Trinity New Golutvin
convent where they could see the materials on the convent and the district history, as well as
some views of historical monuments devoted to
the Kulikovo Battle
and reflecting its place in the history of Russia, and the works of the sisters
of the convent .
